RW Bro. Robert Christopher Deal, Jr.
District Grand Master
Robert Christopher Deal, Jr. was born on the 5th November 1970 in Sweeting’s Cay, Grand Bahama; his parents being teachers there at the time. He attended Primary School at various schools in South Eleuthera and later moved with his family to New Providence and attended Aquinas College. He graduated from the University of the Bahamas in 1990 with an AA in Construction Engineering. In 1993, he graduated from Howard University with a B.Sc in Civil Engineering and obtained a M.Sc in Civil Engineering from Stanford University in 1994. He a Registered Professional Engineer (Bahamas) and Chartered Civil Engineer (United Kingdom) with over 20 years of experience in the water and wastewater sector.
He was initiated into Royal Victoria Lodge No. 443 on the 08th December 1999, passed on the 13th December 2000 and raised on the 10th April 2002. He was installed as Worshipful Master of Royal Victoria Lodge (New Providence) in November 2012. He is the Founding Master of Yuma Lodge No. 9949 (Long Island) and a Joining Member and the Worshipful Master of Bahamas Installed Masters Lodge No. 8764 (New Providence). He is also a Joining Member of the Lodge of Unity No. 8760 (New providence) and Lodge Eleutheran Adventurers No. 1816 (Eleuthera, Scottish Constitution) and an Honorary Member of Bahamas and Turks Tercentenary Lodge No. 9948 (New Providence). He was appointed District Assistant Grand Secretary in March 2013 and District Grand Secretary in March 2014.
In the Royal Arch, He was exalted into Royal Victoria Chapter No. 443 (New Providence) on the 23rd November 2005. He is also a Joining Member and Past First Principal of Arawak Chapter No. 8877 (Freeport). He was appointed District Assistant Grand Scribe E in March 2013 and District Grand Scribe E in March 2014.
His Masonic involvement includes assisting with coordinating the Royal Victoria Lodge’s University of The Bahamas Scholarship Endowment Programme and the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Scholarship Programme. He is also actively involved in other Masonic Orders and is part of the Planning Committee to introduce an English Red Cross of Constantine Conclave to New Providence.
He presently serves as a member of the Lyford Cay Technical Scholarship Committee and the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Construction Trades Programme Advisory Committee. He is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Professional Engineers Board, a Past Vice President of the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association and an Inductee into the University of the Bahamas Hall of Fame. He is also a former Guest Host of the You and Your Money Television Show.
He and Cleopatra Deal (formerly Pratt) are the proud parents of three children: Eden, Robert III (Bobby) and Lauren.
His Passions are art in general but Bahamian art in particular and enjoying the waters of the Bahamas.
